In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation at the end of 2014 there was a unification of two important institutions: Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre and Polenov Neurosurgical Institute. Since the beginning of 2015 the new combined medical center is called — Federal State Institution “Federal North-West Medical Research Centre” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Polenov Neurosurgical Institute is identified as a branch of the Federal North-West Medical Research Centre.
