On December 22, the 8th Coordinating Council Meeting of the Scientific and Educational Medical Cluster “Translational Medicine” took place at the Almazov National Medical Research Centre.
The following presentations were made at this year-end final event:
- Performance of the Translational Medicine Cluster in 2017 and plans for 2018” by Evgeny Shlyakhto, chairman of the “Translational Medicine” Cluster Coordinating Council, General Director of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre
- BioMediTech innovative platform by Aleksey Malikov, Head of the Office for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at the Almazov National Medical Research Centre
- About Biomedical Innovation Forum to be held in June 2018 by Alexandra Konradi, Deputy Director for Science of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre
Also, the meeting marked the inclusion of Saint-Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation into the structure of the Cluster.
The Cluster members approved the results of 2017 and expressed their support for the new educational and scientific projects to be implemented in 2018. In particular, the representatives of scientific and educational institutions forming part of the “Translational Medicine” Cluster will pay a working visit to Tampere, Finland, in January in order to learn about the BioMediTech innovative platform and, as a result, to explore the possibility of creating a similar platform in St. Petersburg.
