On September 26–27, Polenov Neurosurgical Institute (branch of Almazov Centre) held a workshop Endovascular Treatment of Intracranial Aneurysms.
The event brought together specialists involved in the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, as well as the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions.
The workshop featured six showcase procedures, including the implantation of flow-diverter stents for complex internal carotid artery aneurysms, thrombectomy and thrombus aspiration for in-hospital stroke, as well as the embolization of aneurysms with detachable coils using various assisting techniques.
The theoretical part included lectures and a detailed discussion of the implantation features for various flow-diverter stents, the choice of detachable coils and assisting techniques.
This event was a venue for the specialists to discuss in detail the topical issues and share experience with colleagues. Similar events will be organized in future to expand the scope of procedures and the geography of participants.
