The specialists of Almazov Centre successfully performed the first in Russia robot-assisted surgical repair of renal artery aneurysm and bilateral stenosis of the renal arteries.
The surgery was performed by Mikhail Mosoyan, Medical Director of the Urology and Robotic Surgery Clinic at Almazov Centre.
The team comprising a vascular surgeon, a cardiologist and renovascular hypertension specialist monitored the condition of the patient in the OR. The surgery was successful and without complications, and there were no impaired renal blood flow or renal ischemia.
The surgery performed on the 34-year-old patient was the first step in a comprehensive surgical treatment. The second stage will be the balloon angioplasty for the left renal artery stenosis.
This complex surgical intervention was made possible only thanks to a multidisciplinary approach and state-of-the-art equipment of Almazov Centre.
