On October 27, Almazov Centre held a round table on Smart Healthcare Innovation Platform Promoting Value-Based Medicine. The event was broadcast on the website of Strategic Forum 2020—2021.
The round table organizers were: St. Petersburg State Institution of Public Health “Medical Information and Analytical Centre”, Almazov National Medical Research Centre and St. Petersburg State Institution of Public Health “Polyclinic No. 74”.
Smart Healthcare Innovation Platform promoting VBM is applied to cardiology in St. Petersburg and is the main goal of the Russian part of the BSR S3 Ecosystem project of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme.
The discussion mainly focused on new information technologies for VBM in Saint Petersburg.
The participants were welcomed by:

- Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov National Medical Research Centre, RAS Academician
- Esa Kokkonen, Director of the Baltic Institute of Finland, Head of Work Package 2 «Mapping» of the BSR S3 Ecosystem project of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Project (Finland)
- Professor Harri Melin, Director of the Institute of Labor Problems, Tampere University, (Finland)
All speakers emphasized the importance of the project Smart Healthcare Innovation Platform promoting VBM for St. Petersburg in particular and for Russia in general. The representatives of Finland also highlighted the value of cooperation with Russian experts and expressed their readiness not only to continue joint work under this project, but also to implement new Russian-Finnish projects for healthcare modernization in the future.
The round table participants expressed their hope that development and implementation of Smart Healthcare innovation platform will open up great prospects for medicine and healthcare system in St. Petersburg.
