On June 16, specialists of Almazov Centre took part in a Russian-Chinese meeting with the executives of medical institutions of the People's Republic of China. The meeting was held online and was dedicated to the discussion of cooperation and organization of academic exchange. The event was held with the support of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The representatives of two Chinese hospitals took part in the meeting: Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Xinhua Hospital).

Almazov Centre was represented by Head of Research Management Anna Starshinova, Director of the Institute of Perinatology and Pediatrics Tatyana Pervunina, Head of Research Department of Polenov Neurosurgical Institute Natalia Ivanova, Head of Neurology Research Laboratory of Research Department of Clinical Neurophysiology and Epileptology Tatyana Alekseeva, Chief Researcher of Rehabilitation Research Laboratory Elena Demchenko, Leading Researcher of Neurology and Neurorehabilitation Research Laboratory Maria Pospelova, Head of Rehabilitation Treatment Department Nikolay Shelukhanov, Head of Medical Rehabilitation Department No. 1 Olga Altukhova, Head of Medical Rehabilitation Department No. 2 Olga Ganenko.

During the online meeting, Chinese colleagues presented their medical institutions, spoke about the use and development of traditional Chinese medicine as well as the use of integrated Chinese and Western medicine, and outlined areas for cooperation.

Head of Research Management Anna Starshinova presented the clinical structure of Almazov Centre, areas and results of research and focused on the promotion of Russian-Chinese scientific contacts.

In closing, the participants of the meeting discussed the possibilities of traditional Chinese medicine in the rehabilitation of patients, exchanged views on the matters of common interest and outlined plans for further cooperation in the field of science and education.
