The annual Healthy Life Forum took place on 23–24 March 2023 in Saint Petersburg.
This year’s Forum for the first time served as a platform for dialogue between the expert communities of Russia and the CIS countries. The purpose of the event was to harmonize and strengthen cooperation in the field of healthcare, the development of high technologies and the pharmaceutical industry in the CIS.
The Forum’s programme focused on such issues as modernizing primary care, training medical personnel, promoting the digital transformation of the industry, exporting medical services, developing and introducing innovative medicines into practical healthcare, as well as strategies to combat infectious and non-communicable diseases. One of the main items on the agenda was discussion of public health and prevention issues, drug safety and ensuring the quality and accessibility of medical care for all.
Director General of Almazov Centre Evgeny Shlyakhto moderated the session on modern approaches to control CVD and gave presentations in the sessions “High technologies in medicine: a course towards advanced development” and “Medical quality and safety as a basis for development of national healthcare.”
Specialists of Almazov Centre took an active part in the Forum. Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Darya Ryzhkova spoke at the session entitled “Development of technologies for the production and use of innovative radiopharmaceuticals.” Sergey Krupkin, Head of Medical Technology Transfer Centre spoke on the introduction of innovations in practical healthcare.
The event brought together federal and regional government officials, health ministers of CIS countries, heads of key agencies within the CIS ministries of health, major medical organizations, compulsory medical insurance funds, leading educational and scientific organizations, representatives of the WHO, expert, scientific and professional communities of Russia and CIS countries, non-profit and public organizations, business and patient community.
As part of the Forum, some participants visited Almazov National Medical Research Centre. Among the guests were a delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat, as well as specialists from Kyrgyzstan and Armenia headed by Minister of Health Anait Avanesyan.
The guests visited the Institute of Medical Education, Preclinical Translational Research Centre and PET Centre and learned about the activities of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, hybrid operating room, Situation and Analytical Centres.
