In 1994 he graduated with honors from the First Leningrad Medical Institute (St. PetersburgPavlovStateMedicalUniversity), specialty “General Medicine”. From 1994 to 1996 he studied in clinical internship at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology of St. Petersburg Pavlov State Medical University in “Infectious diseases” specialization.
In 1999 Dmitry Lioznov defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences “Flexner dysentery in patients who abuse alcohol” and in 2010 his doctoral thesis on “Comorbidity of bloodborne virus infections and substance abuse in young people”.
Since 2012 Dr. Lioznov is a Vice Rector for Nursing Education at St. Petersburg PavlovStateMedicalUniversity, since 2011 he is the Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology with the course of HIV Medicine. Since 2007 Dr. Lioznov is a senior researcher at Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre.
Dr. Lioznov is an author of over 90 publications, including articles in national and international journals, manuals, guidelines, and others.
