The Laboratory carried out scientific research project in accordance with the state contract for the development of methods for early detection of gestational diabetes.
As a result of the study we identified the markers associated with a high risk of gestational diabetes in the first trimester of pregnancy and revealed risk factors such as overweight, higher fasting glucose in the first trimester of pregnancy, family history of diabetes and diastolic arterial hypertension. We also identified symptoms that would imply a high risk of gestational diabetes.
The Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare issued the permission to use newly developed medical technology entitled “A method for predicting the effectiveness of treatment and improving insulin sensitivity in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome”.
The laboratory implemented the state assignment “The search for new biomarkers predicting the risk of gestational diabetes and the development of methods for its prevention in high-risk groups”.
