Head of the Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics and Genetics Department, MD, the Chief expert in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of the North-West Federal District
She graduated from Pavlov Medical Institute in 1974 (in Leningrad). In 1974–1976, she trained in clinical internship in “Surgery” and from 1976 to 1992 worked as a senior laboratory assistant, resuscitator, a senior fellow of the Group of Heart Disease Surgical Treatment in the clinic and at the Faculty Surgery Department of the Institute.
In 1986 she defended her thesis in “Surgery” on “Features of the early period after jejun-bypassing in obese and hyperlipidaemia patients”.
From 1992 to 2006 Tatyana Vavilova was an assistant, an associate professor, a professor of the course (hereinafter — the Department) of the Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of Pavlov State Medical University. In 2004, she defended her MD thesis in “Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics” and “Cardiovascular Surgery” on the topic “Hemostasis system in patients with mechanical prosthetic heart valves”.
In 2006–2011, Tatyana Vladimirovna led the course of Clinical Laboratory Diagnosis of Hospital Therapy Department of Mechnikov Medical Academy; in 2011–2013, she worked as a professor at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of the Northwestern Mechnikov State Medical Academy.
Tatyana Vavilova held specialty training (2007–2012) and pedagogy (2008, 2011) in educational institutions in St. Petersburg and Moscow; she has certificates in “Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics” and “Hematology”. Tatyana Vladimirovna held internships in laboratories in the USA (Atlanta, 1994) and Sweden (Karlstad, 2005).
Tatyana Vavilova is a board member of the Russian Society on Thrombosis, Hemorrhages and Vascular/Vessel Wall Pathology named after Schmidt-Kudryashov, a board member of the Laboratory Council at the Health Committee of St. Petersburg Administration, representative of St. Petersburg on the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) and the European Federation for Laboratory Medicine (EFLM), the editorial board member of the “Clinical and laboratory consultation journal”, St. Petersburg; the editorial board member and Deputy editor of the “Preventive and Clinical Medicine” journal , St. Petersburg; the editorial board member of the scientific journal “Hemostasis”, Barnaul.
Tatyana Vavilova’s research interests include the study of thrombotic events molecular mechanisms, prethrombotic early diagnosis and antithrombotic therapy monitoring.
