Functional Diagnostics

 

The Functional Diagnostics Department of the Centre performs diagnostic tests for all CVDs in accordance with world standards. The Department is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities and has a dedicated team of experienced and highly qualified diagnosticians using a comprehensive approach and high-tech non-invasive methods.

Diagnostic tests:

  • 12-lead electrocardiography (ECG)
  • 24-hour monitoring:

— ECG

— Blood pressure

— ECG/blood pressure

— long-term monitoring (1–7 days)

— multichannel (12 leads)

  • Stress tests:

— stationary bike

— treadmill

  • Spirography
  • Ergospirometry (cardiopulmonary exercise test) – a method of studying the external respiration based on the minute volume of pulmonary ventilation and oxygen consumption during exercise
  • Color Doppler echocardiography with quantitative assessment of myocardial contractility
  • Tissue Doppler echocardiography
  • Pediatric echocardiography
  • Transesophageal echocardiography
  • Exercise stress echocardiography:

  • Ultrasound of internal organs:

— Liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, adrenal glands with peripheral lymph nodes

— Kidneys and adrenal glands

— Thyroid gland with peripheral lymph nodes and blood flow assessment by duplex scanning

— Peripheral lymph nodes (cervical, axillary, inguinal)

— Pleural space

— Breasts and peripheral lymph nodes

— Female pelvis (uterus, ovaries, bladder), transabdominal and/or transvaginal

— Male pelvis (bladder, prostate gland) transabdominal and/or transrectal

— Scrotum (testicles, appendages)

  • Fine needle biopsy of the thyroid
  • Vascular ultrasound:

— Duplex ultrasonography of arteries and veins of upper and lower limbs

— Duplex ultrasonography of renal arteries and their branches

— Duplex ultrasonography of the abdominal aorta and its branches;

— Duplex ultrasonography of brachiocephalic arteries at the extracranial level (DS BCA)

— Duplex ultrasonography of the major arteries of the head at the intracranial level (TCDS)

— Ultrasound of the inferior vena cava and iliac veins with color Doppler mapping/angiography mode

— Ultrasound of a transplanted kidney with color Doppler mapping/angiography mode

— Ultrasound of arteriovenous fistula with color Doppler mapping/angiography mode

— Duplex ultrasonography of the aortoiliac segment

  • Assessment of vascular age
  • Shockwave therapy
  • Tilt table test (with passive orthostasis)
  • Neurophysiological tests (electromyography and electroneuromyography; evoked potentials; electroencephalography, quantitative sensory testing; transcranial magnetic stimulation)
