The fifth jubilee international conference EndoBridge2017 with participation of the leading European endocrinologists was held in Antalya, Turkey from 19 to 22 October 2017.

The event program included lectures of the world-famous speakers such as AJ van der Lely, Gerald Raverot, Lynnette Nieman, and others. During the conference, the delegates discussed pituitary diseases, new drugs for Cushing disease, problems of hyponatremia, etc. In the series of interactive discussions, a number of clinical cases were presented. Each speaker had an opportunity to talk on the treatment techniques traditional for his/her country.

A researcher from the Neuroendocrinology Laboratory at the Institute of Endocrinology of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre, Dr. Liana Khatsimova took part in the session on Neuroendocrine Tumors. The co-chairs Camilla Schalin-Jäntti from Finland and Corin Badiu from Romania presented interesting clinical cases on ACTH-producing medullary thyroid cancer, cases of nesidioblastosis in children and various variants of MEN syndrome.

Dr. Khatsimova made a presentation entitled “Treatment of genetically determined paraganglioma in the posterior mediastinum with long-acting somatostatin analogues”. The talk raised an active discussion on the diagnostics and treatment of paragangliomas/pheochromocytomas.

Within the conference, a session for young scientists organized by the European Society of Endocrinology and representatives of national endocrinology societies was held. Interesting and informative program of EndoBridge2017 let the young scientists not only learn about current scientific trends in Endocrinology but also to discuss the specificities of starting a career in the field of medicine.
