скворцоваRussia's Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova approved the new chief visiting specialists of the Russian Ministry of Health and introduced the new distribution for some specialties depending on the federal districts.

Until now, there have been one chief cardiologist and one chief oncologist in Russia. Currently, two responsible executives for these fields have been appointed.

“We have decided to appoint two chief specialists for two priority fields with a maximum contribution to the reduction of mortality — oncology and cardiovascular diseases,” explained Veronika Skvortsova. “It is due to the scope of work to be done for the achievement of strategic goals set by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

Thus, Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of the Almazov Centre, and Sergey Boytsov, Director General of the National Cardiology Medical Research Center of the Russian Ministry of Health will be responsible for the field of cardiology.

Also, Tatyana Vavilova, head of the Laboratory Medicine and Genetics Chair at the Almazov Centre, was appointed chief specialist of the Ministry for clinical laboratory medicine.

On August 29, the Minister Veronika Skvortsova held a meeting with chief visiting specialists to discuss the priority issues of public policy in health care and the execution of presidential orders.
