Every year, the Young Cardiologists working group of the Russian Society of Cardiology holds the Battle of Scholars for students, residents, PhD students and young doctors from all over Russia. This year, the HeartCor team represented Almazov Centre in the competition and made it to the finals.
The first stage was held remotely in the form of a cardiology quiz and comprised 3 rounds and a super game with questions from different areas of cardiology. Participants had to show their skills in interpreting imaging methods and knowledge of the history of medicine.
The second round was also held remotely and featured discussion of clinical cases. The HeartCor team presented a clinical case of differential diagnosis in pregnancy with a dilated cardiomyopathy phenotype suggesting a differential diagnosis between peripartum cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and non-compacted myocardium. As a result of this round, the HeartCor team reached the final stage of the competition, and soon it will represent Almazov Centre during the Russian National Congress of Cardiology to be held from September 29 to October 1, 2022 in Kazan.
