Almazov National Medical Research Centre continues to expand the geography of cooperation and establish new partnerships in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region in order to interact in the field of medical education, joint research and exchange of experience in practical health care.
On October 21, 2022, Almazov Centre held an online meeting with representatives of Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) also known as the National Heart Institute of Malaysia.
The meeting started with a welcome from Dr. Suhaini Kadiman, Head of Anesthesiology/Director of Clinical Research, IJN and Dr. Evgeny Mikhailov, Deputy Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute, Head of Neuromodulation Research Laboratory of Almazov Centre.
Specialists of Almazov Centre presented to their Malaysian colleagues the medical, research and practical activities of the Centre:
• Senior Researchers at the Cardiomyopathy Research Laboratory Natalia Goncharova and Maria Simakova presented their experience in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and CTEPH and spoke about pulmonary hypertension registries.
• Pyotr Fedotov, Leading Researcher at Heart Failure Research Department, Head of Research Laboratory of High-Tech Methods for Heart Failure Treatment, and Maria Simonenko Researcher at Cardiopulmonary Testing Research Laboratory spoke about the research areas and achievements of their Department.
• Vladimir Uspensky, Head of Aortic and Aortic Valve Disease Research Laboratory shared his experience of surgical treatment of patients with aortic diseases.
Malaysian colleagues, in their turn, gave a general presentation about IJN and shared their experience in CVD treatment and achievements in the field of aortic surgery.
In closing, the participants of the meeting expressed hope for the development of cooperation and mutual interest in further discussion of treatment methods and technologies as well as the exchange of experience in the study of specific clinical cases.
