Vladimir Putin met with participants of the 2nd Congress of Young Scientists and participants in the Management Personnel Pool programme for science, technology and higher education at the Sirius Science and Art Park in Sochi. Almazov Centre was represented by Nadezhda Zvartau, Deputy Director General for Regional Programmes. The attending experts discussed the strategy for the development of research, science and education.

In her speech, Nadezhda Zvartau noted that the early active involvement of talented people with disabilities in research will ensure their conscious career guidance and effective employment. “That is why, we ask you to support our proposal to include various inclusive research projects for children and youth with disabilities in the agenda for the Decade of Science and Technology, either as a separate initiative, or as separate events and projects a part of already existing 18 initiatives. We are surely preparing such projects. For example, an initiative group of participants in the Management Personnel Pool programme for science, technology and higher education is preparing an inclusive event for school students themed “Technologies without Borders.”
In April 2022, the President signed an Order On Declaring the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation. According to the document, the main goals of the Decade are attracting talented youth to science, involving researchers and developers in addressing essential tasks to develop society and the country, and making information on the achievements and prospects of Russian science more available to Russians. Therefore, Vladimir Putin generally supported the proposed initiative to include projects and activities for people with disabilities in the plan to reach their unique potential in science.
