«Almazov Centre has big plans ahead. All of them have been summarized in the Centre's Development Strategy until 2030, which we will certainly be discussing today. It is important that the strategy is not just a declaration of intent, but a well-defined document that takes into account the current realities and challenges facing the country. I am sure that through the efforts of the Centre's management, specialists and our Board of Trustees, all the tasks listed in the Strategy will be fully implemented. Finally, I would like to thank all the members of the Board of Trustees for their active participation in the life of Almazov Centre and for their continued support. I believe that our friendly team will do a lot of useful things for the development of the Centre and Russian medicine in general».

One of the main issues on the agenda was the implementation of the decisions of the Board of Trustees for the period 2013—2022and the approval of the Centre's Development Strategy until 2030. Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov Centre, spoke about this in his presentation.

“The Board of Trustees of Almazov Centre has been working for 10 years now. During this time, of course, a lot has been done. We see how effective the work of the Board is, how much support it gives, how important and timely its decisions have been and, most importantly, that all of this has been implemented”.

Valentina Matvienko noted that a truly modern “medical city of the future” has been created in Almazov Centre. Two unique facilities – the Preclinical Translational Research Centre and the Children's Rehabilitation Clinic – were put into operation, the World-Class Research Centre for Personalized Medicine was established. An innovative hub and a high-tech Medical Radiology Centre for cancer patients are being developed. According to her, Almazov Centre has become a leading medical institution in Russia and a world-class research and education centre.
