The Russian National Congress of Cardiology is the largest and most prominent annual event for Russian cardiologists and doctors of other related specialties.
In his welcome address to the participants, Director General of Almazov Centre, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, President of the Russian Society of Cardiology Evgeny Shlyakhto said:
“We are gathering today in difficult circumstances. Russian cardiologists have made a huge contribution to fight the new coronavirus infection and have returned to providing specialized elective and emergency care, to active research and educational activities. Many difficulties await us along this path: there is a danger of a new wave of the pandemic, tens of thousands of patients need rehabilitation and many of them are experiencing an exacerbation of cardiovascular conditions, but I am convinced that the Russian cardiology community today can become an example in how to intensify work and achieve world-class results.”
The scientific programme featured lectures, plenary sessions, scientific symposia, workshops, clinical case discussions, break-out and poster sessions, young scientist award session and training sessions for practitioners.
The Congress provided participants with a great opportunity to share their knowledge and experience.
