The central event of the 13th St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum was the Plenary Session where the heads of federal and regional authorities, public corporations, institutions and organizations, experts in the field of production, innovation, medicine, science and education discussed key aspects of support and development of industry and health care.
The Forum was held on November 19 and began with the opening ceremony featuring welcoming speeches by the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and Director General of Expoforum-International Sergey Voronkov.
The key topic for the plenary session of the Forum was “Tandem of industry and healthcare 2020: conclusions and forecasts.”
The key points were discussed by Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO Management Company Anatoly Chubais, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Knyaginin, President of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Andrey Rudskoy, Director General of Almazov Centre Evgeny Shlyakhto, Deputy Director General of the Shvabe Holding Ivan Ozhgikhin and other key industry specialists.
Speaking at the Plenary Session, Evgeny Shlyakhto focused on the development of healthcare in such areas as smart clinic and digital healthcare.
“Patient monitoring, signal acquisition, data processing, telemedicine consultation, artificial intelligence are all included in the concept of digital health. A smart clinic differs from a digital one in that a digital clinic has no analytics, no forecasting. The challenge is not only how not to change the situation, but also how to prevent it. And our key focus is patient safety. This is what is called value-based healthcare. ” outlined Evgeny Shlyakhto.
The participants of the plenary session also discussed the following topics: industry for healthcare –stress test 2020; government regulation of healthcare – the synergy between medicine and industry in the face of global threats; medical industry development, government support and performance indicators; the response of domestic production to viral threats; management system for science, technology and innovation: conditions for the development of science-based business and much more.
